Welcome to my practice, I'm Serena Meyer, a Registered Nurse (RN), International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) and Registered Lactation Consultant. I remember clearly how I felt as a brand new parent, and how I just needed someone to come show me how to breastfeed better, with less discomfort. My practice is set up to strengthen your parenting skills so you can find your way through breastfeeding, newborn care and early parenting.
There is no rushed service offered; no clock watching. We will work together to find the answers, bolster your confidence and help you resolve your concerns and ease your fears. I can help you make sense out of infant behaviors, and help strengthen your own communication with your baby! We can work together to resolve any pain.
I foster a loving and calm parenting journey, with both candor and discretion offered to all clients.
I take special care to address the evolving shape of your family; attentively meeting the emotional needs of pregnant clients and their partners, and families.
I have both an office in Orinda Ca, or we can do a home visit! Contact us to hear more! On occasion my interns may be shadowing, but we always check first!
Our most exciting update is an interview with Oaklandside on the safety of the covid-19 vaccines and breastfeeding in December 2020, and another 2021 interview with ABC7 news on Vaccines while pregnant and breastfeeding.
As part of your health care team, I offer my experience in dealing with common and complex diagnoses and situations ranging from acute unresolving breastfeeding pain and past breast surgery, to more complex concerns such as infant cardiac defect, low weight gain, preterm birth or tongue tie.
