Serena Meyer, RN, International Board Certified Lactation Consultant

Serena has authored articles on lactation and breastfeeding for La Leche League International and Native Mothering, an online breastfeeding and mothering resource. Additionally, she presents breastfeeding topics at workshops, classes and conferences. She is the founder of Bay Area Breastfeeding Support, and sees over 600 families a year. To date she has seen close to 4800 families. She also runs a support group with over 7100 members in it. Serena is a Registered Nurse in the State of California, and also a board certified LC. She has two degrees and is a constant life learner. Serena's area of focus are challenging issues such as tongue tie, failure to thrive, previous breast surgery, painful breastfeeding and oral and structural pathology, and lower that normal infant weight gain.
Serena is married and has one child who she adores.

Mandy HalpinMandy Halpin is excited to practice alongside Serena to offer skilled, dynamic lactation care to diverse families in the Bay Area. As a masters-prepared nurse practitioner trained at UCSF, she has a special interest in supporting families experiencing complex medical situations while seeking to nourish their babies with breastmilk. She has two children of her own and lives in San Francisco. |
Megan ShinkleMegan Shinkle is a sleep wizard (overnight postpartum doula) for families in the Bay area. She is passionate about families and loves to see them thrive. With her love of continued education and growth, she now offers classes in labor comfort measures, labor support, postpartum Support, sleep consulting and most recently has been working towards her ibclc certification. |
Xristina KarasisChristina is the office manager for Bay Area Breastfeeding Support. She is a born and raised Bay Area mom with a passion for helping families. She has done advocacy work for LGBTQ+ communities and has trained as a doula under Contra Costa County's volunteer doula program. In addition to her office support for BABS, Christina homeschools her three awesome children and enjoys studying modern Greek language in her "me time". She speaks Greek at an intermediate level. |
